Introduction of CSP Mechanical Low Temperature Cooling System KEVIN
(April 1999)

CSP Cryogenic Spectrometers GmbH announces the introduction of the low temperature cooling system KEVIN allowing to reach temperatures below 100mK. The mechanically cooled, Adiabatic Demagnetization Cryostat (ADR) runs without any liquid coolants and its operation can be fully automated. The bench-top type cooling unit enables vibration free low temperature operation and it is the first cooling system allowing low temperature X-ray measurements on a routine basis.

CSP Cryogenic Spectrometers GmbH is a high-technology company specialized in development, manufacturing and marketing of energy dispersive detector systems for high resolution X-ray spectroscopy and ADR cryostats giving access to low temperature and superconducting material measurements.

CSP has joined R&D projects with the Technical University in Munich, it is partner in the European MEDEA program and supported by Booz • Allen & Hamilton.

Introduction of CSP Cryogenic Spectrometers GmbH
(February 1999)

CSP Cryogenic Spectrometers GmbH was founded in 1998 and is a high-technology start-up specialized in development, manufacturing and marketing of energy dispersive detector systems for high resolution X-ray spectroscopy. These detectors can widely be used in combination with scanning electron microscopes (SEMs). High sensitivity, high resolution microanalysis allows determination of extremely small surface structures. The company has unique expertise in developing and producing next generation superconducting, high resolution X-ray spectrometers and new, bench-top type, mechanically cooled ADR cryostats allowing automation and operation at temperatures below 100mK.

CSP Cryogenic Spectrometers GmbH is currently developing a microcalorimeter type of high resolution detector and plans its market introduction at the end of 1999. CSP is interested in contacts for joint application developments.

CSP Cryogenic Spectrometers GmbH is located in Ismaning, a high-technology center near Munich and has an intense R&D cooperation with the Technical University in Munich. The company is partner in the European MEDEA program (Micro-Electronics Development for European Applications) and supported by the Bavarian state government in the scope of the high-technology startup funding program BayTOU. As "Top Ten – Innovations for New Jobs" prize-winner CSP's business activities are supported by Booz • Allen & Hamilton.
